Cookie policy

Last updated 10 July 2026.

Plainly: LandscaperSearch sets no analytics or marketing cookies. The only thing we store is a single strictly-necessary item that remembers your cookie choice, so we do not ask you again on every visit.

The choice we remember

When you make a choice in our cookie banner, we save it in your browser's local storage under the name cc-consent-v1. This is strictly necessary: it is what stops the banner reappearing on every page. It holds your category choices and nothing else, it is not shared, and it never leaves your device except as the consent record described below.

Managing your choice

You can review or change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page. Declining the optional categories changes nothing today, because we do not load anything in them yet.

A record of your consent

So we can show that consent was given, we log each decision to our own server: the categories you chose, the date, a coarse country, and a one-way anonymised code in place of your IP address. We do not store your IP address or a raw device fingerprint. There is more detail in our privacy policy.

How we measure usage without cookies

We still want to know which listings and services are useful, so we measure usage in a first-party, cookie-free way. When you tap an action on a listing (reveal a phone number, open a website, open Google Maps, or start a quote), we count that event together with a coarse country and a device class. We do not set a cookie, store your IP address, or track you across other sites.

If this changes

If we ever introduce analytics or other non-essential cookies, the same banner will ask you first, and nothing non-essential will run until you agree.

Cookie categories

For clarity, here is where each usual cookie category stands on this site today.
